Kashi Vishwanath is the most sacred Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. The current structure was built by Ahilyabai Holkar in 1780, though a temple has stood at this site for thousands of years. The golden spires, donated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1835, are iconic. The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, completed in 2021, has transformed access to the temple with new visitor facilities.
