Dashashwamedh Ghat
Heart of the Ganga Aarti

Dashashwamedh Ghat is the main ghat in Varanasi and one of the most sacred along the Ganges. According to legend, Brahma created this ghat to welcome Lord Shiva. Every evening at 6:30 PM, it becomes the stage for the spectacular Ganga Aarti — a fire ceremony performed by trained priests, drawing thousands of devotees and visitors. Arriving early for the sunrise boat ride here is equally transformative.
